Seize the Cheese
Seize the Cheese is a 2.5D puzzle-platformer game following Mousy, a field mouse who has wandered into Mrs. Butternut’s house in search of cheese. Now, Mousy must escape before he is caught by Smudge, the house cat.
The game features various types of cheese blocks that Mousy can use throughout his journey. Some can be moved and climbed to create new paths, while others can be eaten to grant super strength or health.
Seize the Cheese is designed with a unique storybook aesthetic, making it feel as though it comes straight from the pages of a children’s book. Characters in the game also speak in poetic rhymes, adding charm and whimsy to the experience.
The game was developed as part of a collaborative capstone project by a 24-member game development team at George Brown College. The team included programmers, designers, concept artists, 3D modelers, and animators — including myself.
